Rodrigo Capó Ortega returns for Castres

Uruguayan secondrower Rodrigo Capó Ortega will return for club duty this weekend for Castres Olympique as the French Top 14 team host Scotland´s Edinburgh in the third round of pool matches on saturday. The Uruguayan international player has been on the sidelines since October 2, after suffering a lumbar apophysis injury. This meant that, despite improved relations with the URU Capó Ortega was unable to represent his country in the two Rugby World Cup 2011 Playoff Final matches vs Romania last month. The two matches vs Romania would have been his final appearances for Los Teros after Capó Ortega confirmed yesterday that he has retired from international duty.

The match will be played at the Stade Pierre-Antoine in Castres. With the French side looking like firm favorites after defeating Perpignan 23-13 on Saturday. They are in sixth position of the Top 14 and are ahead of powerful teams including Bayonne, Perpignan, Stade Français and current champions, Clermont. Castres have a great chance of pushing for a quarterfinals spot in this match as they currently sit in second place - tied with the Cardiff Blues whom Castres defeated 27-20 in a Heineken Cup clash in October. Castres, however, lost their other match 18-14 to the Northampton Saints. Should Castres win they will truely have a chance of making the playoffs.

Rodrigo Capó Ortega´s return from injury will see him coming off the bench as he has been named in the reserves. Interestingly, Argentine secondrower Esteban Lozada has been selected on the bench meaning two South American secondrowers will go head-to-head in the latter stages of the contest. Edinburgh´s rivals, the Glasgow Warriors, will also be playing a Heineken Cup match vs another team from South Western France as they take on current champions Toulouse at their homegtround of Firhillon Friday evening. Glasgow have selected an All Americas backthree in Canada´s DTH van der Merwe at 11 Federico Martín Aramburu at 14 and Bernardo Stortoni at 15. Canadian prop Kevin Tkachuk has been named on the bench. Toulouse will have two Pumas in Patricio Albacete starting in the second row and scrumhalf Nicolas Vergallo named on the bench.
