Juan Martín Hernández Out of Autumn Internationals

The long awaited return of star flyhalf, Juan Martín Hernández in a Los Pumas shirt has been put on hold after he confirmed that he cannot take part in the international matches vs Italy, France and Ireland  due to a thigh injury he picked up playing for Racing Metro in the Top 14. In an interview with Argentine rugby website, El Mago explained that his recovery had not gone as anticipated following his back surgery in January 2010. French and Argentine doctors pointed out that because of the operation his body had not returned to function with the same intensity and he had thus returned to play too early.

It is not all terrible news however as despite being ruled out of the november internationals, Hernández should be back playing in the Top 14 for Racing Metro when it restarts on December 4th with the battle of Paris as Racing Metro host Stade Français.

The injury to the most famous Argentine rugby player should see Felipe Contepomi captain the side from flyhalf with the inside centre spot being fought over by three other players based in France - Marcelo Bosch (Biarritz), Santiago Fernández (Montpellier) and Martín Rodriguez Gurruchaga (Stade Français). It would appear that Fernández has the inside running with Rodriguez Gurruchaga starting at fullback and Bosch covering both and flyhalf from the bench.
With Thanks
