Federico Aramburu scores two as Glasgow defeat Aironi

Despite the autumn internationals starting this past weekend with Belgium, England, Ireland and Wales all hosting international matches from touring sides, there was room for a little bit of Magners League action to take place in Scotland with the two Italian sides playing away matches as Edinburgh hosted and defeated the surprize package of the season so far - Treviso and Glasgow hosting the under performing Aironi. Two former Argentine internationals played for Glasgow as did two current Canadians. The players from the Americas did a lot for the Scottish side with Federico Martin Aramburu who is unwanted by Pumas selectors scoring two tries and Canada's centre DTH van der Merwe continuing his impressive form at wing for the club with yet another try - his fifth in seven matches. van der Merwe has been playing wing for the Glasgow Warriors all season but will play centre today for Canada v Spain in Madrid.

Glasgow scored four tries to win the match 33-8 after taking a 20-3 half time lead. The win sees the Glasgow Warriors rise to ninth position on the ladder but having played an additional match than the Irish and Welsh teams. Edinburgh sit in fourth place. Action returns next week with the Irish and Welsh sides making up for the missed round. The Italians and Scots return the following week.
