Canadian international scores again

In the latest round of action in the Magners League the Canadian try scoring machine, DTW van der Merwe scored another try for the Glasgow Warriors as his side faced Wales´s Scarlets in Llanelli. Glasgow entered the match on a high after they had defeated another Welsh side, the Ospreys the previous week with Canadian prop Kevin Tkachuk scoring a second half try for Glasgow after coming off the bench. Tkachuk was on the bench again vs Scarlets while van der Merwe was joined by Argentine winger Federico Martín Aramburu in the starting lineup.

The three American internationals tried hard but it was the home side who won the match 18-14 with the heavens opening up to provide torrid conditions. The win puts the Scarlets in second place and sees Glasgow, despite picking up a bonus point, stay near the foot of the table in eleventh position out of twelve teams. Glasgow will face the bottom side, Italy´s Aironi on Friday at home with Edinburgh hosting Benetton Treviso in the weekends only other match as the Irish and Welsh sides all break for the november internationals.
