URBA Top 14 Semi Finals

Belgrano Athletic and La Plata have qualified for the URBA Top 14 semi finals after winning their respective play-offs matches against Athletic del Rosario and Alumni this past weekend. Belgrano Athletic won 27-6 at home while La Plata did very well to defeat Alumni 28-12 in an away play-off match. The play-offs saw former Pumas flyhalf and wonder kicker, Federico Todeschini, play his last match of rugby before retirement. The man who famously kicked 20 points for Argentina vs The Lions in 2005 and intercepted a Toby Flood pass in 2006 to defeat England, is hanging up his boots after his team, Athletic del Rosario was eliminated.

The semi finals will take place this saturday with Hindu Club hosting Belgrano Athletic at 16:40 and SIC hosting La Plata at 19:40. The final will not be hosted by either Hindú or SIC, rather La Plata will host was it was selected to do so several months ago after impressing officials during Argentina A x France A in June. The host sides are the favorites to meet in the final which will take place the following saturday - October 23.
