Rugby X-treme in Argentina
The profile of rugby in Argentina continues to grow with higher player numbers, higher viewing numbers, more professional players and regular strong results from Los Pumas. With this the importance of rugby in Argentine culture continues to take on a new meaning with more and more initiatives taking place. One such example is snow rugby known as rugby x-treme which is a game of rugby being played not only on snow but actually high up in the Andes Mountains on ski areas.
The IRB´s weekly show, Total Rugby, recently aired a brief piece about x-treme rugby which included former Pumas international winger, Diego Albanese who is a national hero after scoring the match winning try vs Ireland in Rugby World Cup 1999 which saw Los Pumas make the Quarter Finals.
