The Glasgow Warriors may not be doing too well in the Magners League but Canadian international winger is having a great season for the Scottish side. This past weekend DTH van der Merwe scored another try as the Warriors travelled to Belfast for an away match vs Ulster. After taking the lead 17-16 in the 50th minute it looked like Glasgow would be able to hold on for a good away victory. However, South African scrumhalf Rian Pienaar had a dream debut scoring all of his teams points and with a penalty goal in the 72nd minute he was able to secure the victory for the Irish side 19-17.
The result means that after five rounds the Glasgow Warriors sit in 10th position out of 12 in the Magners League which is worrying for Scotland as the november internationals approach. Former Pumas backs Federico Martín Aramburu and Bernardo Stortoni both played alongside van der Merwe in the all-Americas back three while Pumas secondrower Esteban Lozada played for Scotlands other team, Edinburgh, in their away win vs Aironi in Italy.
DTH van der Merwe´s continued good form is very encouraging for Canada and they prepare for their four test tour of Europe next month and look to build ahead of Rugby World Cup 2011 in which Canada will be targetting two wins in their group.
