Special mention in L´Equipe for Martín Rodriguez Gurruchaga

After only six rounds of action, Paris has a new Pumas back receiving plenty of praise from the French media. Following Saturday´s Top 14 clash between Stade Français Paris and CA Brive at Charléty Stadium in Paris, France´s L´Equipe website gave a special mention to Martín Rodriguez Gurruchaga for his superb solo try. In giving him a special mention, the site pointed out that Rodriguez Gurruchaga demonstrated all of his class in a truely inspiring try. Elsewhere he has even been refered to as the man to replace Juan Martín Hernández.

Rodriguez Gurruchaga started the match at fullback but moved to flyhalf to cover for Lionel Beauxis who was yellow carded. His try was scored from the flyhalf position. Unfortunately for the Parisians, Brive went on to win the match 29-27 thanks to a try from Ronnie Cooke late in the game. His try and 10 point haul is a continuation of the fine form that has resulted in him recieving good press in France. In his debut run-on performance vs powerhouses, Toulouse, he scored all 16 of his teams points while playing at inside centre.
