Canadian signs short-term deal to play in Scotland
Young Canadian backrower, Chauncey O'Toole will stay on in Scotland until late October after impressing for the Glasgow Warriors in the pre-season. The 24 year old linked up with Glasgow after Canadian team mate DTH van der Merwe suggested the club should sign O´Toole. The club also has a third Canadian, prop Kevin Tkachuk as well as two Argentina players - Federico Martin Aramburu and Bernardo Stortoni.
Chauncey has joined Glasgow from Canadian side The Rock who are the only undefeated team in phase play from the Canadian Rugby Championship. He is from the Canadian province of New Brunswick and was part of a group of nine players sent to Northern Wales for training in a program set up by the Unions of Canada and Wales. He made his international debut for Canada vs Ireland in 1999 and has played six tests for his country thus far. He was man of the match vs Uruguay in June´s Churchill Cup.
