Rugby World Cup 2007 - Argentina vs Namibia

After defeating Georgia in Lyon, Argentina travelled south to Marseille to face the second best team from Africa, Namibia.

Los Pumas were expected to win with a bonus point and succeeded in doing so. Namibia, did perform well, however, as they made it hard for Argentina to score tries in the first half. They went into the match after losing to both Ireland and France but did perform very well vs Ireland in losing 32-17. Argentina had the advantage of having had ten days off since their match vs Georgia.

It was the second ever match between Argentina and Namibia. The first having occured at Rugby World Cup 2003 in Gosford, Australia in which Argentina won 67-14. Los Pumas were looking for a similar performance but in addition to targetting a bonus point win, they were also attempting to continue their impressive defence as neither France nor Georgia had been able to score a try in Argentina´s earlier two matches of the tournament. After two matches no other team competing at Rugby World Cup 2007 had not conceeded a try.
