The growth of rugby in the USA to become an important sport can be seen clearly in the 2008 film, Forever Strong. It is a movie about a rugby player named Rick Penning who has problems with drinking and with the law. He is forced to leave his home town to go to a Juvenile Detention centre for boys in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is based on a true story. In Salt Lake City, Penning goes against his pride and joins a local team known as Highland Rugby. This creates problems for his former team who is coached by his father.
